Lorica Squamata 02 - Empire Period
Roman Squamata evolved over time, with the later types having the individual plates chained together in a 'locking' pattern rather than loose and sewn to a leather backing. This example is based on a swatch found in Mainz Germany from the 2nd century (Roman empire period). Unfortunately the Romans didn't have a 'Lorica Squamata' naming guide to differentiate the types from each other (that we know of), so for now they're numbered.
